BACKGROUND EDUCATION After an outstanding education in art throughout my early years in school and with private lessons, I was accepted at Pratt Institute in New York. I later transferred to the State University of New York to continue my art education. Later on I was fortunate to add special art courses in California. CAREER My work took me through teaching gifted children in the public school system and privately in adult education. Throughout my life I have been accepted in many juried shows and won numerous awards. Some of the more notable ones are: •Honolulu International Center Art Exhibit •Armed Forces Art Show, Quantico VA Best of Show •Waterford Foundation Art Exhibit •Art League of Northern Virginia - One-person show •Marine Corps Museum, Quantico VA Permanent Collection •Currently represented by Baker Galleries, Idyllwild CA •Riverside Art Museum - accepted into three juried shows •Also in many private collections with almost 600 paintings cataloged It was an honor to have been selected as the first civilian woman combat artist for the United States Marine Corps. Paintings are now in Quantico and sometimes Washington DC. Art is an ongoing learning process - one of much joy and satisfaction. Color is something that creates excitement in me and hopefully, a memorable response in the viewer. 928-284-3003 PO Box 21097 Sedona, AZ 86341 |
